Church life

There’s always something happening in the life of this church, including mid-week Small Groups, kids activities, youth groups, serving the poor in our City, student parties, courses that explore the meaning of life and so much more. For upcoming events please check out our diary.

Our Kids groups are a fun and exciting place for the kids and the team! Our Children’s team run kids groups both on a Sunday and during the week, for babies right up to Year 5. We aim to lovingly disciple the kids and pray that they would grow in their walk with Jesus – loving Him with all their hearts and follow him every day of their lives. If you are looking for a church and have children, we would love for you to join us. On Sundays the groups run for the entirety of the service and every child is guaranteed a high-5 every week!

We believe that the kids are a part of our Church and therefore want them to be actively involved in all that we do – worship, reading the Bible, prayer, ministry, serving, giving and sharing God’s heart for the poor and those that do not know Jesus.

During our ministry times we want to encourage the kids and team to meet with God, to listen and to respond to what He is saying through His Holy Spirit. We hope that they will become more like Jesus, grow in His character and experience and live in the fullness of God’s Kingdom.

If you are looking for a church and have children, we would love for you to join us. On Sundays the groups run for the entirety of the service and every child is guaranteed a high-5 every week! We also have midweek groups for those in year 5, which happen on a half-termly basis.

Our mission is to see Jesus impact the lives of these young people and mould them to become more like Him. We have a passion for building up a youth who worship God through the good times and the bad, who are excited about having a relationship with Him, who desire to study their Bible more, pray – and see things happen, and who have a heart for reaching out to the community in which we live.

Every week at Church we have a separate youth programme called ‘Chroma Youth’ for those in school years 6-11. The youth start off in the main service for the worship time and then go to their group.

They take some time to get to hang out, play games, learn more about Jesus and pray for one another; hot chocolate and sweets are always involved! We have always been serious about having lots of fun – BUT also serious about Jesus!

Visiting youth or new young people to the church are very welcome to go to any of our Youth events. If you need more information please email our Youth co-ordinator Amelia Paynter, or look out for the Youth workers at church wearing Chroma Youth sweatshirts on a Sunday morning.

Here at Church we love students and are committed to seeing every student grow in their relationship with Jesus.  Our vision is to be an inviting community where you can come and belong and be equipped to do what Jesus did and released into the life God is calling you to. We have a thriving community so if you are student aged and looking for a church to call home, we can’t wait to make you feel welcome among us!

If you’re a Student who can’t get to Church because of transport, we’d love to give you a lift! Just text Rachel on 07515656412 at least 24 hours before the Service and we’ll arrange transport.

At the beginning of autumn and spring terms we host Student Lunches. This is a great way to get to know some other students as well as experiencing some delicious cooking!

Chroma groups are the heart of our church and are a great way to meet in a smaller friendly group and help each other grow relationally and spiritually. Each group is unique and we’re confident you’ll find one you love.

Chroma Groups

Chroma Groups meet around the City on different days and times, and are the heart of our church community.

They are a place to meet with friends, support and encourage one another, and get to know and be known. We have a variety of groups. A typical group meets for a couple of hours one evening a week, worships together, shares or discusses life around the Bible, prays for each other and eats together. We also have a lot of fun!

Some of our groups meet in the daytime and have space for babies and toddlers. Other groups gather around a particular theme such as prayer, prophecy, creative arts or community action. Groups may also organise outreach in the community and social activities. Essentially they are a place where you can belong, support one another, grow in faith and have fun!

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the meaning of life. It’s fun, relaxed and with no pressure.Sometimes it’s easier not to ask questions, but on Alpha we think life is worth exploring, so your questions are welcome no matter how ‘out there’ they are. Each session will include a short talk and then a discussion around your table, where you can share your thoughts. The talks are designed to encourage debate and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, honest and informal environment; looking at topics including ‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why and how do I pray?’

Our aim is to make Alpha a safe and fun environment for you to ask your questions and find some answers.

Outward focussed

Storehouse is an initiative that works to serve homeless, hungry and vulnerably housed people in Leicester.

We believe God is compassionate and cares deeply about the situation of those in need. We want to make a difference by practically demonstrating God’s love and acceptance to them, with no strings attached.

At Storehouse we provide food, toiletries, nearly new clothes, baby items, household items, such as bedding and kitchenware, and pre-used furniture. All of these items have been donated and are free to those referred to us. We have a welcoming coffee lounge where our guests are given refreshments while they wait for one of our friendly project workers to help them find the items they need.

We believe that there is a role for the church today in serving outside of our country. To this extent we encourage people to take the opportunity to take what they do here (reach out locally) and do similar things in a different place with the local church in that country.

You can be involved even if you can’t or don’t want to travel. We have regular prayer meetings, praying for those going and for our partners in the various countries.

Loving Leicester

We always want to be an active part of the Leicester community and as part of this we run a range activities in and for the community, including street parties, Men’s and Women’s events, keep fit classes, baby and toddler groups, developmental courses, family gatherings and the offer of prayer in the city centre. We love Leicester and Leicestershire and are committed to serving the people who live there.

Are you desperate for a deeper revelation of God? Do you want to experience His presence and His power in your life? Is there a desire to understand the scriptures and practically live these out? Do you have a passion for Jesus and for His Kingdom to break through NOW?

… Then Encounter could be for you!

We are so excited for the launch of Encounter; a year designed specifically to raise passionate followers of Jesus who carry the presence of God wherever they go. We believe that encountering the living God transforms lives and we want to see this happen across our city and nation.

“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 (MSG)

God has created us to be light-bearers, bringing His colour to the world. We believe that this starts with a deeper revelation of who Jesus is, experiencing His presence tangibly in our own lives, so that we can go to the streets, the schools, the campuses, the offices and beyond, going public with the news of Jesus! Encounter is your opportunity to dedicate a year to this mission and be transformed for a lifetime!

The course will begin in September 2017 and will run on Tuesday’s, Friday’s and Sunday’s. For more information and an application form, please email
