What We Do

We believe that everyone at Leicester City Vineyard can get involved in our local community and change the lives of those around us.  A few of the things we do are:

  • Small Groups
  • Woman's Refuge
  • Care for the Poor
  • Training
  • Church Planting

Storehouse

In Leicester we have seen a need to serve the homeless, hungry and vulnerably housed people, through working with existing hostels and drop-in centres.

We run a Storehouse stocked with food, toiletries, nearly new clothes, baby items and household linen, which we give way to those in our city that have need of them.

We believe that God is compassionate and that He cares that about the situation of the homeless, hungry, and vulnerably housed people in our city.  We want to make a difference to these people by practically demonstrating God’s love and acceptance to them, with no strings attached.

Two key areas that we are currently working in are:

1. Hostel Support

We are continually looking for ways to demonstrate Gods love to those staying in the city’s hostels.  So far our Storehouse has provided toiletries, clothing, emergency food parcels and Christmas gifts to a number of hostels and refuges in Leicester.

We are also developing a Pampering and Craft ministry in a women’s hostel.  The ladies may learn how to make j ewellery or have their nails painted but fun is had by all!

2. Homeless ‘Drop in’ Support

We regularly support ‘the Bridge’ (Homeless to Hope) drop in centre. ‘The Bridge’ provides food, clothing and a listening ear for those in Leicester that are homeless, in hostel accommodation or are unable to afford food and clothing. We support this project by providing food and helpers that serve, chat, play board games and generally enjoy ‘hanging out’ with those that they serve.

Contact us for more information or to get stuck in.
